My name is Darren Huckey and I’m a Messianic Gentile. I’m a jack of all trades, and master of absolutely none. I know a little Hebrew, html, css, javascript, jquery, php and Flash. I lead worship and play classical guitar, as well as acoustic and electric. I enjoy obscure bands such as Daniel Amos, the Swirling Eddies and the 77s. I am self-studied and an eclectic reader. I’m a graphic designer and web developer by trade, but I thrive on leading others into a closer walk with the God of Israel through my writing and teaching. I have been a co-leader in a Messianic home fellowship / community in the central Arkansas area for the last ten years. I study with a wonderful group of guys every Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m. I am currently in the process of writing a book on Discipleship that I hope to have published in the near future and would be happy to submit articles for publication if you have a publication that could use my perspective.

If you don’t know already, my main website / blog is Digging with Darren, and I’ve been blogging there since around 2002. I’ve focused my writing there to articles that bridge the gap between Messianic Judaism and mainstream, evangelical Christianity. I’ve created this blog site as a place to put some of my more random, quick, open-ended thoughts that I get throughout the week while studying. I assume my readership for this blog to be more biblically literate than my readers over at Digging with Darren, as well as to know more about Judaism, Messianic Judaism and the Jewishness of the Christian faith. I don’t promise to have answers to (any or) all of the questions I will be posing on this site. This site is more of an outlet for things I want to remember and allow others to share any insights they may have on them as well.

If you do any talmudic studies, you will recognize and understand the title of this blog. If you don’t, don’t worry about it. Just enjoy what’s here and you might eventually make sense of it.

Thanks for dropping by. Please give me a shout to let me know you’ve stopped in.
